It's been a while since I've had a minute to give the Maya update... so here it goes. She was two months old on January 15th. We took our first trip up to Arcata to visit Grandma and Grandpa Elfers a couple of weeks ago. Maya did great in the car for the 5 hours each way it took to drive.
She went to her first crab feed at the Humboldt Yacht Club, but slept through it all.
Tuesday January 20th she was awake for the inauguration of Barak Obama. My mom had a little get together at the house and it was fun to share the historic event. I think it is wonderful that my daughter gets to grow up knowing what IS truly possible. And hopefully we'll see a woman as president in the coming years. It's only a matter of time...
The biggest change in our lives is that I have started back to work, part-time for now but will be back full time by mid-February. I'm sure it is much harder on me. And at least Maya is at home with her Dad during the day, so it makes leaving a little easier, but not much. I did my first full day yesterday and was crying (again) at having to leave her. I hope it gets easiser.
Ok, enough of writing, photos are coming....
