11 months old!
Maya turned 11 months old on October 15th. I do not know where the time has gone. I can't believe that at this time last year I was getting ready to go out on maternity leave and now I'm planning my daughter's 1st birthday party. This photo captures Maya, her personality and her spirit beautifully. Oh how I love this little girl.
President's Cup
October 6th- Guillermo's Father's Day present was a week pass to the President's Cup golf tournament at Harding park in San Francisco. He took Maya to the first day of practice.
It looks like she enjoyed herself, much to her dad's delight.

Sunset to Sunrise
Sunset from the Beach at Kirby Cove.
Full moon from our campsite at Kirby Cove. Full moons have special meaning to us because there was a full moon when Maya was born.

Camping at Kirby Cove
October 4- Guillermo found this amazing campsite, only about 20 minutes away from our apartment...
On the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's called Kirby Cove and it is probably one of the most beautiful campsites in the country. These are photos of our actual site. There are only 4 total campsites. You have to park in the parking lot and carry your stuff to your site. Thankfully, they provided dollies to make it a little easier. No running water, no electricity...just you and the great outdoors.
Photos from the beach. It was a little colder than I would have liked, but you still can't beat the scenery.
This was Maya's 2nd camping trip and she did really well. Maybe next year we'll try for 2 nights.

Inside the Academy
Maya enjoying lunch at the Moss Room inside the Academy of Sciences. She loved the heirloom tomatoes.
Great father-daugther photo at the Moss Room. It is their special place for lunch. I still haven't been there!
Watching the peguins...they are Maya's favorite attraction at the Academy. Probably because she can get so close to them.
Making friends...

Outside the Academy of Sciences
September 16-Maya's favorite hangout is the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Guillermo takes her there at least a couple of times a month. On this day it was sunny enought for Maya to roam around on the grass, with her big hat of course.
She kind of reminds me of the Flying Num in these photos.
I just can't get enough of those cheeks!

September 15- Maya turned 10 months old. It's hard to believe how big she's getting.

Murphys, CA
August 29-30- My friend Kimberly got married in her hometown of Murphys, CA. It was a great weekend and very hot (like in the 100s) so Maya had on her best summer outfits that she never gets to wear in San Francisco. I just love this photo of her looking down at the camera.
We love the big brimmed hat that was a gift from Uncle Mario and Aunt Michelle. It got a lot of use over the weekend. Maya and Mom are headed off to the post-wedding brunch.

9 months old!
August 15...It was a beautiful day and we took a great walk after breakfast. This photo is from Sutro Park which overlooks Ocean Beach on the very west end of San Francisco. In the background (don't know if you can see it) is the Windmill garden where Guillermo and I got married (almost 3 years ago!).
This is from the Land's End trail. The Golden Gate Bridge is in the background.
Picture perfect. We also saw several dolphins swimming!

Music Class
There is a great center near our apartment called Day One and they offer all kinds of classes and workshops for new parents. Our favorite class is the Musical Play class they have on Fridays. Here's Maya with her egg shaker.

Bath with the cat
Our cat loves the water. He will let you give him a bath. He runs to the water when he hears the shower turn on. And he loves bath time with Maya. She has her own tub, so he jumps in right behind.
And drinks the water from the back of the tub.
