Guillermo's cousin Estrella came to visit with her daughter Stellina who is 6 months younger than Maya. Here are the girls with Stellina's Grandpa Luis (Guillermo's uncle).

Maya's 2nd Christmas

Grandma and Grandpa Elfers felt well enough for a short visit the day after Christmas. Maya got her first piano!

Christmas Day 2009

On Christmas morning, we drove down to Santa Cruz to Uncle Tim and Aunt Kathy's house. My parents were too sick to make the trip and we missed them very much! Maya admired the Christmas tree from the time we arrived.
Maya's new favorite toy, her musical table plays the ABC song and counts to 10 in both English and Spanish.

Maya got the hang of opening presents pretty quickly. (Yes she changed outfits!).

Christmas Eve 2009

We usually celebrate Christmas Eve with Guillermo's family. This year we had dinner at our place. Here's Maya all dressed up with Grandma Maggie.

Ladies Who Lunch in Training

December 4, 2009: Maya is out to lunch with Mom and Dad at South.
Maya is enjoying flatbread with broccoli rabe, ricotta cheese, chili flake and lemon zest. We are so happy that she loves to eat as much as we do.

The after party

After the party in Golden Gate park we came back to our place to open presents. The favorite was Jax, the musical giraffe.
Grandma Karen got Maya this great hat. I think she has more fun taking it off though.
Another one of my favorite photos.

1st Halloween

Thank you cousin Gillian for the elephant costume! I look really cute, but could only stand it for about 5 minutes. Long enough to get these pictures taken. I'm sure next year will be better.

With my pumpkin from the pumpkin patch (that never got carved into a jack o' lantern--thanks mom).
Finally a smile....
