Orange Friday!

I think most everyone knows that our family has a few die hard Giants fans in it. Guillermo being the biggest one of them all. Yesterday, the Giants were back in SF after a terrible 0-6 road trip to San Diego and LA. I had Maya dressed in a cute little yellow top with a flower on it. Guillermo saw her and said today is Orange Friday. (When the Giants play at home on Fridays, fans wear orange). So he proceeded to change Maya's outfit so she could be wearing orange. This is the outfit he bought for on Opening Day. The background is Maya's very own Giants blanket that she received at Christmas from Uncle Rafe and Aunt Donna.
Since this was Maya's first Orange Friday, I thought we'd better have some photos to go with all of the other Firsts.
Maya owns no pink Giants gear (though it is available) and neither do I. If you're going to wear your team's gear, it should be in the teams colors. I did put pink socks on and had her in a pink blanket when I took her out in the stroller, but still got asked how old is he?
Finally a smile....AND the Giants won!

Playing tourist

Guillermo's younger brother, Mario Jr (on my right) is going into the Navy this week and he and his wife Michelle came for a visit the first weekend of April (from Yuma, AZ). It was a gorgeous day, so we headed down to the Wharf for some sightseeing. In the photo from L to R: Our nephew, DJ, his dad (Guillermo's older brother) David, Guillermo, Gwendolyn, Maya, Mario Jr and Michelle.
Miss Maya rides forward facing her her Snugli now and enjoys seeing the world. We love the hat!

Almost sitting

Maya is very close to sitting up by herself. We practice a couple of times a day. This picture was actually very hard for me to take because she would start to topple over before I could get one with her sitting all the way up. I know it will be happening soon.

5 Months old!

On April 15th, Maya turned 5 months old.
It's still hard to get her to smile for the camera, but I got a good one here.
I think she looks like her Uncle Tim in these photos.
Still too cute for words!

Still more Opening Day

Post game family photo at Willie Mays Plaza
We stopped by South Food + Wine Bar (Guillermo's work) after the game and Anna couldn't resist picking her up. Smiles all around.
The weatherman was predicting rain and thunderstorms for the game today. We got a rainbow instead. :)

More from Opening Day

I told Maya yesterday that today (Opening Day) is her dad's favorite day of the year.
Thanks to Grandma Maggie, Maya was all geared up for the game.
And Guillermo loved every minute of it.

Opening Day 2009 - GO GIANTS

Today was Opening Day for the San Francisco Giants and we brought Maya for her first of MANY games at AT&T park. We were in line checking the stroller and we heard that you could get a certificate for your child's first baseball game. So of course we had to get one for Maya. It's a pretty cool momento that we'll keep for her. And the Giants won!

Just arriving inside the ballpark.
Maya's all set to go in her Ergo carrier.
Enjoying the game with Mom.
